a love letter sent to Somewhere City

I absolutely adore this record. It’s this technical masterpiece, and I’ve been sitting on thoughts for it for about a day on how to articulate just how great it is. Aside from looping into itself, it truly does take you to the titular town of Somewhere City. The cover art is something that speaks for itself, but in case it doesn’t - the idyllic yet exciting nature of a town yet to be explored or one already well-known to you. The anger and familiarity of a red light. “Skeleton Key” is a love letter in and of itself and in this far-about-far-away-type-of-way. Akin to the concept of Somewhere City itself.

666Flags” is a thoosie’s dream title, and you’re telling me you’re referencing my favorite coaster at my boyfriend’s job? cool. love it here! I305 supremacy while I’m here, but it’s such a fun track, and I’m so appreciative of it. Are you kidding me. Even though I play “The Title Trackevery day on my work to remind me to appreciate what’s around me and the view of the water a little more, I think “666Flags holds the throne here.

But here’s the kicker, right? They wrote an album that loops into itself. A true shuffle-has-to-be-off album. Like The Wall. I wrote on Twitter yesterday about how this album is akin to that in execution. I maintain that.

the city never lets me down.

love,
