It’s Pulses., Baby!
Oh and truly, if I had a dime for every time I’ve said out loud, in my head, or on the internet that I wanted to see Pulses.? I’d be rich and the magazine would look a hell of a lot better. So would my gear. I’m absolutely thrilled to tell you, however, that I can finally quit my yapping - at least about seeing them.
If you’ve never heard of the Pulses. Love? I can’t even begin to describe how badly you’ve been missing out on the greats. Hailing from northern Virginia, the four piece known as Pulses. sets the stage for elevated Swancore in the scene. There. I said it. And I mean it, too. For fans of Swancore and Math Rock? You’re in the right place, even if the fitness gram pacer test of life is tough on you.
The crackling fun introductions to songs, the ad-libs, the guitars singing back to you? It’s everything I’ve always been a sucker for. Almost nonsensical lyrics thrown in and you know I’m there. If you’re a fan of Cat Company, of Dance Gavin Dance, of Emarosa, of Dwellings? You’re gonna love it. I can assure you. The closest thing I can describe pulses as is an Alaskan Bull-(Ear)Worm.
Personally? I’ve been on the Pulses. train for a good five years now - since Bouquet - and the best time to start anything new is always right now….so what’re you waiting for? They don’t think it be how it is, anyway. (But it do!)
