Go Go GADGET BULLETPROOF SHRED!

God - OKAY! You all should know by now that keeping my mouth shut is doable but incredulously painful. I’ve not been gatekeeping, simply cooking.

Y’all do not want to hear this, I’m sure, but you’re missing out and have been missing out on Blight Town. (And as a Bioshock-tattoo haver, you guys know that if it’s (bangin’) video game related I’m gonna be all-over it.) I have not been gatekeeping, either, trust. Y’all have just been…not looking, I suppose. Are you guys gonna get mad if I say song of the year in the HXC communities isn’t from Pantheon, as much as I adore the record? I think it’s gonna come from Blight Town, and Go Go Gadget Bulletproof Head(!) will take up the entirety of every post-hardcore yearner’s fall/winter season. It’s cuffing season, I know y’all - I know some of y’all are looping the sad shit. And I mean that’s reasonable, it certainly is Intrapersonal season - but Turnover made other phenomenal music, and we don’t all have to be entirely sad.

Musically, this is everything the post-hardcore/all-adjacent-genre-circles (we’re NOT having the discernment conversation here!) has been craving. I’m a sucker for a partially muted guitar line before vocals come back in - where you feel the music is moving you, and Go Go Gadget feels like being in a $550 cash only Facebook Marketplace boat in the best way possible, babes I’m MOVING, GROOVING.

This is produced in such a fun way - I love care to detail and love for the art we all create in different forms, and that speaks so well to the video accompanied - “The Joy of Shredding” with Blight Town, snippets of true “dork-isms”, as joy and life should be. The “cringe” you loved will always save you. Also, I know about three different bands pissed as can be that they didn’t get to the Bob Ross parody first.

If you’re nowhere near Blight Town’s music, please let me put them on your radar before you fuck up further. UK/EU Has already seen a Hail The Sun opening tour with them - don’t miss out on the Joy of Shredding live - or the ability to have it come to the states with our support. Sue me (don’t~), I wanna be able to cover a great UK group without insane travel costs.

Always remember, nothing is permanent, life is fun, everything is just a happy little accident.
